The department laboratories are interconnected through a well-designed seamless network with internet facility to facilitate the students and staff to access subject oriented journals and conference websites.

COMPUTER LABORATORY 1

PG Computer Lab is equipped with General Purpose Systems -- computers that enable students to write C/C++/Java based programs.

Softwares installed: ORACLE, Turbo C/C++ Compiler, Java, Visual Studio, Blender and My SQL.

Hardware: HCL Workstations (50), FOSS Server, Library Management Server, Backup and Storage Server and Canon Printers.

System Configuration: HCL Workstations: Dual core 2.20 GHZ, Gigabyte Motherboard, 1GB RAM, 160GB Hard Disk

CISCO LABORATORY

The CISCO Lab is equipped with specialized computers that enable smooth conduct of CCNA, Security, Cloud and Grid Computing experiments, Internet Programming, Mobile Application Development for the Students.

Softwares installed: CISCO Packet Tracer, IBM Rational Suite, Visual Studio, Eclipse and Net beans, Android Simulator, Java, Globus Toolkit, Open Nebula and Eucalyptus.

Hardware: HCL Workstations/PC (50), ACER Workstations (10) Canon Printers, CISCO Routers and Switches.

System Configuration:
ACER Workstations (10): Intel Core i3, 3.7 GHz Processor, 8 GB RAM, 1 TB Hard disk
HCL Workstations (30): Intel Core i3, 3.3 GHz Processor, 8 GB RAM, 500 GB Hard disk
HCL Workstations (18): Intel Dual core 2.20 GHz, 4GB RAM, 320 GB Hard Disk

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering has Oracle Academy, and CISCO Networking Accademy which enables the students to excel in Oracle packages and become network experts with CCNA Certification. The department is a member of ICTACT Academy which helps develop the Communication skills of students through their Youth Circle Program. The department has signed an MOU with ICTACT for creating Center of Excellence for Data Analytics Programme. The department also promotes continuous learning and research in core and emerging areas with help of IIT alumni club “PALS”.

Dr C Viswanathan, Professor & Head, Department of Computer Science and Engineering and Information Technology.

Dr. Viswanathan Chakravarthi had his graduation in the year 1999 in Electronics and Communication Engineering from University of Madras. He has done Master of Engineering in Computer Science and Engineering in the year 2005 from Anna University. He has completed Doctor of Philosophy in the year 2014 from Anna University in the field of Mobile Ad-hoc Networks (MANET). He has more than 22 years of teaching experience in various engineering colleges. His research interests are in the areas of MANET, Embedded System, Internet of Things (IoT) and Machine Learning. He has published many papers in various International Journals and Conferences. He has filed 3 patents. He is a Member of IEEE, IAENG and SDIWC.
