COMPUTER SCIENCE AND ENGINEERING

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering was established in the year 2006 with the objective to provide high quality technical education to students enabling them to excel in the field of engineering. The Department is led by experienced, committed and dynamic faculty who strive to achieve excellence in teaching and mould future computer professionals. The department, known for its emphasis on discipline, strives to equip students with skills necessary to meet challenges of the highly competitive software market.

INFRASTRUCTURE

LABORATORIES

The department laboratories are interconnected through a well-designed seamless network with internet facility to facilitate the students and staff to access subject oriented journals and conference websites.

COMPUTER LABORATORY 1

The Lab is equipped with general purpose computers systems that enable students to write and practice C/ C++/ Java based programmes. The lab workstations have industry standard programming, Analytics, Graphics and Open Source softwares.

Softwares installed: ORACLE, Turbo C/C++ Compiler, Java, Visual Studio, Blender and My SQL.

Hardware: HCL Workstations (60), FOSS Server, Library Management Server, Backup and Storage Server and Canon Printers.

System Configuration: HCL Workstations : Dual core 2.20 GHZ, Gigabyte Motherboard, 2GB RAM, 160GB Hard Disk

CISCO LABORATORY

The CISCO Lab is equipped with specialised computers that enable the smooth conduct of CCNA, Security, Cloud and Grid Computing experiments, Internet Programming and Mobile Application Development to the students. The lab workstations have various industry standard Networking Packages.

Softwares installed: CISCO Packet Tracer, IBM Rational Suite, Visual Studio, Eclipse and Net beans, Andriod Simulator, Java, Globus Toolkit, Open Nebula and Eucalyptus.

Hardware: HCL Workstations/PC (50), ACER Workstations (10) Canon Printers, CISCO Routers and Switches.

System Configuration:
ACER Workstations (10): Intel Core i3, 3.7 GHz Processor, 8 GB RAM, 1 TB Hard disk
HCL Workstations (30): Intel Core i3, 3.3 GHz Processor, 8 GB RAM, 500 GB Hard disk
HCL Workstations (20): Intel Dual core 2.20 GHz, 4GB RAM, 320 GB Hard Disk

The Computer Science and Engineering Department is associated with professional bodies like CSI & ISTE. The faculty members of this community seek to establish, maintain and advance a broad understanding of Computer Science in order to fulfil students’ academic and professional goals.

INDUSTRY INTERFACE

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering has Oracle Academy, which enables the students to excel in Oracle packages. The department also has CISCO Networking Academy through which the students become networking experts and get CCNA Certification. The ICACT Academy develops the communication skills of students through the Youth Circle Program. The Department has signed an MOU with ICTACT for creating Center of Excellence for Data Analytics Program. The Department also promotes continuous learning and research in core and emerging areas with help of IIT alumni club ‘PALS’.
