CURRICULAR PROGRAM

Alpha Arts and Science College was established in 1996 as a private, unaided, co-educational arts and science institution approved by the Government of Tamilnadu with permanent affiliation to the University of Madras It was re-accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council [NAAC]. The Quality Management System of this Minority Institution confirms to ISO standards 9001:2015. AASC offers 9 Undergraduate programmes and 2 Post graduate programmes and is equipped with suitable infrastructural facilities to aid the teaching-learning process.

The Institution, being affiliated to the University of Madras, follows the Choice Based Credit System and Semester pattern with mandatory extension activities, value education and soft skills. The Under Graduate programmes are for duration of three years leading to Degrees awarded by the University of Madras on successful completion of academic requirements and passing the University examinations prescribed for the course during the six semesters under Choice Based Credit System (CBCS).

Placement training and Placement offers through on and off campus drives are an essential and core part of the academic culture of Alpha Arts and Science College. Much emphasis is placed on preparing students for the world of work ready right from the first year. Value added courses, projects, internships, awareness programs, certificate courses, tech talks, hands-on training, workshops, seminars and conferences are conducted throughout the year to enrich the curriculum and add value to their Degree.

Online teaching and learning methodologies using ICT such as Google Classroom, Laptops, Mobiles and other technologies are an integral part of the teaching-learning process at Alpha. E-resources are made available to students through online applications to augment their learning.Alpha is committed to catering to the academic needs of the slow learner as well the advanced learner. Remedial and Tutorial classes to support and strengthen the weak students and challenging assignments, projects and extra coaching to help advanced learners obtain University Ranks and Gold Medals are conducted regularly as part of the academic plan of the institution.
