Based on the marks obtained in entrance Exams like -TANCET conducted by the Anna University & Consortium of Self Financing Professional, Arts and Science Colleges in Tamil Nadu.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR MASTER OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION (MBA):
• Any degree from a recognized university with any Government Entrance test (10+2+3) pattern.
• Candidates must have passed in a recognized Bachelor’s degree of minimum 3years duration and obtained at least 50 % (45 % in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) at the qualifying degree examination.

• 10+3 years Diploma +3years pattern or

ALPHA MERIT SCHOLARSHIP SCHEME
The Alpha Group of Institutions has been passionate about extending the benefit of its endeavours to all deserving students, irrespective of their social or economic background. In pursuit of its objectives, the Group has introduced a merit scholarship scheme as described below:
NAME & APPLICABILITY
The scheme will be known as Alpha Merit Scholarship Scheme.
The objective is to recognize and reward excellence by offering merit scholarships to students who secure admission to Alpha College of Engineering based on their academic performance in the qualifying examination.
NUMBER OF SCHOLARSHIPS
The number of scholarships for each academic year will be determined by the management and will be notified before the commencement of admission process. Generally, 5% to 10% of the sanctioned seats in each stream will be earmarked for award of merit scholarship.
ELIGIBILIY & SELECTION
Students who secure not less than 90% marks in the qualifying public examination as prescribed by Anna University will be eligible to apply for a merit scholarship. All applicants will be ranked in the order of their merit. The grant of scholarship will be subject to the applicant securing an admission to the Alpha College of Engineering. The award of scholarship will be restricted to the number of scholarships approved for that academic year. The awardee will be designated as Alpha Scholar during the tenure of the scholarship. A candidate may decline an award of scholarship. In such instance, the scholarship will be offered to a wait-listed candidate next in the order of merit.
NATURE OF SCHOLARSHIP
The scholarship will be offered by way of full tuition fee waiver. The awardees will not be entitled to claim cash disbursement.
CONTINUANCE
All awardees will be required to submit a performance report duly endorsed by the Principal/Director to enable determination of their eligibility for continuance of the scholarship during the ensuring term/year.
The scholarship will be continued in the following term/year only if the scholar secures not less than 90% aggregate in each of the semester/annual exams every year. Good conduct and regularity in attendance are also required for continuance of the scholarship. The decision of the management will be final and binding in all such matters.
DISCONTINUANCE
The management may revoke, suspend or cancel the award of scholarship if the awardee is found to have: forged any certificate, suppressed any information or made false representation of facts in the application; or withdrawn, discontinued, or been dismissed from the rolls of the college for whatever reason; or been guilty of misconduct by the authorities; or not consciously and diligently pursed the approved course of study in the college. In case the scholarship is revoked or discontinued, the awardee will be required to pay the full tuition fee.
REFUND
The awardee on receiving a notice revoking, cancelling or discontinuing the scholarship must immediately pay the total amount of fee waived as of that date together with interest accrued thereon at the rate specified by the management, failing which the amount in default will be treated as arrears of fees due to the college and will be collected as per college regulations.
FINALITY
On all matters pertaining to the selection of candidates, award of scholarship, management of the scheme or the meaning and interpretation of any of the terms and conditions of the award of scholarship, the decision of the Principal/Director of the college will be absolute, final and binding.
JURISDICTION
The administration of the scheme will be subject to the sole jurisdiction of the courts situated within Chennai city.
Lateral Entry Candidates:
Qualifying Examination: Diploma Candidates:
A pass with prescribed minimum eligibility marks in any one of the Diploma in appropriate branch of Engineering/Technology of the State Board of Technical Education and Training, Tamil Nadu / equivalent prescribed for admission to the Degree Course.
B.Sc. Candidates:
A pass with prescribed minimum eligibility marks in any recognized Bachelor’s Degree in Science of minimum 3 years duration with 10+2+3 year’s pattern and studied Mathematics as one of the core subjects at degree level.
Note: Candidates with Degree other than Bachelor of Science are not eligible.
Minimum Eligibility Marks:
Both Diploma and B.Sc. qualified candidates have to obtain the following minimum eligibility marks for admission to Lateral Entry as prescribed in G.O. (Ms.) No.263, Higher Education (J2) Department, dated: 30.6.2008 and as per directions issued in Government Letter No.5464 / J1 / 2011-1, Higher Education Department, dated:4.7.2011.
